kitchen pass

n. Permission from one's spouse to attend an event or go on an outing.

kitchen pass，不要被字面意思骗了。并不是指你进厨房还要得到允许，而是指如果你要出去的话，得先得到在厨房里忙活的伴侣的同意。

不过这个短语和妻管严（hen-pecked husband）还是有区别的。妻管严还可以用：be tired to one's apron strings 来表达，被系到某人的围裙上，可想而知受控制的程度啦。
